Poor Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) can never get a break in any of these X-Men movies. He’s been tested and tossed around from one end of the continent to the other. We get a better glimpse at how big of a beating he’ll be receiving in the upcoming prequel/sequel The Wolverine.
There’s been a lot of confusion when it pertains to who holds the rights to what characters in the Marvel universe. Right now both Marvel Studios and Twentieth Century Fox are racing to show off their own versions of the mutant Quicksilver, which is going to be mighty confusing to see on the big screen when you see two different actors play him in The Avengers 2 and whatever other movie Fox decides to place him in. In some ways, you could make the same argument about Viper, who’s been revealed as the big bad villain in this new trailer. She also goes under the name Madame Hydra and has strong ties with fighting against S.H.I.E.L.D. and Captain America. I’m surprised there hasn’t been any sort of fuss over who claims her. I guess it must be Fox since they’re using her in this movie.
Don’t forget that The Wolverine will cap off the superhero portion of our summer season as it comes out in theaters on July 26th. It’s a shame it’s not coming out before Comic-Con, just because it’s normally a blast to watch a movie like that on opening weekend with a large group of hardcore fans. Enough talk, check out the trailer below.
What are you looking forward to seeing the most in The Wolverine?
