Sylvester Stallone has tweeted up a storm ideas for who will be in the next Expendables movie, and it looks like he’s found four for his third outing with the series. Those names are: Nicolas Cage, Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes, and Milla Jovovich. And it appears they’re going to be in the movie.
Deadline is reporting that the quartet are in deep negotiations to appear in The Expendables 3, which makes it sound like a done deal. The most recent addition of the four is Jovovich, who hadn’t been rumored, though Stallone mentioned wanting someone who was like Ripley in Aliens, and Jovovich, with her Resident Evil franchise, is as close as any female actress right now is to that sort of iconic ass-kickery. Cage and Snipes were rumored a while ago, and with the former, it’s no surprise as Cage seems to work to work (though most of his more recent efforts have seemingly gone straight to video), while Snipes has recently been released from jail and is likely happy to work. Chan seems newish to the cast, and he’s also an actor who has seemingly retired repeatedly over the last couple years. It’s likely if he does appear, he won’t do much kung fu (he’s old).
Stallone has also recently mentioned names like Steven Seagal and Antonio Banderas, though neither is committed to the project as of yet, while Stallone tweeted that Mickey Rourke (who was in the first but skipped the second) will be coming back. The second film was fun to watch, though a terrible film, and that’s mostly what we expected with the third one. But this assortment of actors definitely makes it appealing. On some level.
Are you up for The Expendables 3?
