Coverage on James Mangold‘s The Wolverine is in full swing. 20th Century Fox has released five new images from the set of the film featuring Hugh Jackman, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima and the director himself. Check them out below.
All of the images include a fully-clothed Jackman, which is something of a change from what we’ve been seeing lately. (He doesn’t really like to keep his shirt on.) A bunch of websites have now been allowed to post their interviews with the stars of the films, including /Film. In their conversation with Mr. Jackman, they asked him if his character would ever appear in The Avengers. He said that while he doesn’t know the legality of the situation, he would love to mix it up with Robert Downey Jr. and Iron Man and “kick his ass.” He added that he loved The Avengers and what they’ve done with it, and went on to praise Kevin Feige as “one of the true gentlemen of this business.”
The Wolverine makes their way into theaters on July 26th. Here’s an official synopsis:
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, the July 12 release takes Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world, he will face a host of unexpected and deadly opponents in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality.
