The latest Superman movie (Man of Steelhasn’t even been released and actor Henry Cavill is already thinking about the future. He’s not contemplating as to whether or not he’ll be playing the Kryptonian again, but is thinking about whether or not he’ll be part of a crossover film in the near future.

While in the middle of an interview, actor Henry Cavill told a reporter how happy he would be if one day Warner Bros would make a Batman/Superman movie. This is his answer:

I think it would be really interesting with the age-old Batman/Superman conflict because they are two different sides of the same coin and their methods are entirely different. And I think it would actually make for an interesting story as to why, first of all, they were going head to head and how. I think that would make a great story.

It’s not like the idea of a crossover film is entirely far-fetched. Warner Bros has been hoping to make a monstrous crossover movie at some point in the near future with Justice League. Then again, there’s a couple of major problems that automatically would come if they tried to go ahead and make a Batman/Superman crossover picture of this degree. First, who would be Batman? It doesn’t appear as if Christian Bale will be taking on the caped crusader again anytime soon, and there’s always that faint possibility that he’ll never take on the role again. If that’s the case, then you have to completely re-cast Batman/Bruce Wayne. On top of that, you have to put the budget into consideration and honestly Warner Bros looks like they’re more concerned with seriously blowing up the DC cinematic universe with Justice League in the next five years if Man of Steel does well in the box office.

Would you want to see a Batman/Superman movie in the near future? Why or why not?
