A lot is happening very quickly in the world of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Marvel’s mouthful of a new TV series/ small screen expansion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. First: Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been unsurprisingly picked up by ABC to air this fall. Moreover, we now have an official cast picture and insignia (see above); and even more enticing, a teaser trailer, via /Film.
The trailer doesn’t so much—some blink and you’ll miss ‘em shots from The Avengers, followed by random secret agent hotshottery and Agent Phil Coulson grimly looking at things and talking. Still, it’s nice to see Coulson sorta-kinda back from the dead (he faked it in The Avengers), as Clark Gregg has been one of the few consistent pleasures throughout the uneven films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The series will concern itself with Coulson as he assembles a group of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to “investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary” all while they learn to be a family. So, essentially, it’s every other TV show that Joss Whedon has ever done, but with more sharp suits and omnipresent sunglasses.
What do you think of the new teaser?
