Director Bryan Singer continues to use Twitter as a means of teasing fans. In his latest tweet, he offers a first look of Ellen Page as the fan-favorite X-Men character Kitty Pryde. X-Men: Days of Future Past will mark Page’s return to the role since 2006′s X-Men: The Last Stand.
In Days of Future Past, Singer will reunite most of the cast from the original two X-Men films that he directed, and combine them with the cast from Brett Ratner‘s X-Men: The Last Stand and Matthew Vaughn‘s X-Men: First Class. The upcoming X-Men film deals with time travel, which sort of explains why there will be so many different versions of one character.
In the classic two-part comic storyline on which the film is based off of, Pryde is possessed by her older self, who time travels into the past to prevent the mass extermination of mutants. There’s been some speculation about Pryde’s appearance in the movie (whether she’ll get a lot of screen time or not). Previously, Mark Millar, who is an official consultant on the movie, said that its Pryde fans would not be disappointed in Days Of Future Past, leading us to believe that we’ll be seeing a ton of her in the film.
The film is out July 18, 2014.
