Returning stars Angelina Jolie, Jack Black, and Seth Rogan will have some added company for the voice cast of Kung Fu Panda 3—joining them will be Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad, Argo), Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect, Bridesmaids), and Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale, the Hannibal TV series).
Also returning will be Kung Fu Panda 2 director Jennifer Yuh Nelson, executive producer Guillermo del Toro, and writers Jonathan Aiber and Glenn Berger.
As /Film notes, the details on the film are quite sketchy, with only a Dream Works Animation summary to go on, stating that the film “follows Po, the chosen one, as he continues on his journey mastering the art of Kung Fu… and noodle slurping.”
It has yet to be noted who exactly Cranston, Mikkelsen, and Wilson will be voicing in the film.
Kung Fu Panda 3 will be co-produced between Dream Works Animation and Oriental Dream Works (the first partnership between the two). It follows Kung Fu Panda (2008) and Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011), which together have earned a combined total of $1.3 billion in total worldwide grosses, and both have garnered Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature, according to /Film.
