Next month, for Memorial day weekend, Arrested Development will relaunch as a netflix exclusive with fifteen new episodes. Everyone’s back, and though we’re still not sure how or if it will live up to the original three seasons (did they get the dust off or what?), we’re happy to have Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Michael Cera and more back on the small screen. To hold us over there are now nine new posters.
Here is that poster gallery:
There’s long been hope that this fourth season might lead to a movie, and many fans are pulling for that, but co-star David Cross isn’t sure it will happen. He talked to Rolling Stone, and had this to say:
Do you think fans will continue demanding a movie even after they watch the new episodes?
I don’t know. I still wonder if a movie will work. For personal, selfish reasons, I would love to do a movie. I would love to keep the character and this family going. I know what the plan is, and I would love an opportunity to get to do it. Whether that happens, I don’t know. But I want to work with these people for the rest of my life.
You’re just not sure if it will work, or you’re just not sure it will happen?
Both. I think it will work. But the idea of going into a theater and watching the Bluth family on a massive screen, I’m not sure if that experience will work. I think it would be weird and unsettling, but who knows. But there is a plan? There is certainly an idea that’s flushed out and ready to be written. But I can’t say what it is.
There’s a plan (perhaps more than just “there’s always money in the banana stand”), but it’s been intimated that if it does happen, it’s at least a year or two away from even moving forward. There’s also the possibility there could be a fifth season on Netflix, but the owner of Netflix thought the chances of that were slim to none. We’ll keep you posted on the comings and goings of the Bluth family, and we’ll be anxiously awaiting May 26, when all fifteen episodes are revealed.
Do you plan to spend a day watching Season 4 of Arrested Development?
