In it, an alien takeover forces a young girl and her suitors to… oh, you know what—it’s Twilight with aliens, ok? It’s Twilight with aliens.
The Host finds the world as we know it completely taken over, as alien parasites have infected and are controlling most of humanity. And of course, at the center of it all, is a really, really bland girl (Saoirse Ronan) and the two really handsome guys who are inexplicably crazy about her (Max Irons and Jake Abel)… just like Twilight. Except it’s totally different now, you guys, because instead of using vampire horror as the framing device for her Mary Sue fiction, Meyer has employed an alien invasion theme. So it’s, like, so different. Anyway, trailer. Let’s just get it over with:
Directed by Andrew Niccol, and co-starring Diane Kruger and William Hurt, The Host is set for a March 29 release, and will probably launch a whole slew of The Host Saga films.
