We’ve already shown you the red-band trailer for Danny Boyle’s upcoming film, Trance, but just in case you wanted a preview of the movie with far less violence and sexual content (maybe your boss only gets mad if you spend your workday watching NSFW trailers), today we’ve got the green-band trailer.Green-band or not, it’s still pretty engaging and entertaining, telling as it does the story of a fine art auctioneer (James McAvoy) who joins forces with the head of a criminal organization (Vincent Cassel) to steal a priceless Goya painting. Things then get odd, though, when McAvoy bumps his head and forgets where he hid the painting, and Cassel uses a hypnotherapist (Rosario Dawson) to get inside McAvoy’s head and find the painting. Think Inception but shot digitally and with a more wacky color palette.
Oh, and as /Film notes, the trailer indicates that Trance is rated R for “grizzly” images—either someone forgot to use a dictionary (they mean grisly), or McAvoy’s gonna fight a bunch of hypno-dream bears in this sucker. Honestly, we’re kind of hoping for the latter.
Trance is set for an April 5 release date.
