Apparently deciding that their killer comedic cast—comprised of Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Kristen Wiig, Christina Applegate, Vince Vaughn, Fred Willard, Luke Wilson, and David Koechner—didn’t contain enough curmudgeonly Hollywood legends or arcane references to the 2010 film Morning Glory, Adam McKay and Judd Apatow have added Harrison Ford to the Anchorman: The Legend Continues cast.
Apparently, Ford (who also rumored to be returning to the Star Wars series as Han Solo) will portray “a legendary anchor” and /Film intimates that he will likely play a Tom Brokaw or Dan Rather-type respected news anchor. And he will likely be grumpy.
It’s been a long time coming for Anchorman: The Legend Continues—the first film, the hit Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy, was released in 2004. However, after some movie studio shuffling, Apatow is producing, and McKay is directing, based on a script written with star Will Ferrell.
Very little of the plot is known beyond the fact that most of the cast from the original film is returning; Anchorman: The Legend Continues is set for a December 20, 2013 release date.
What do you think of Harrison Ford starring in Anchorman: The Legend Continues?
