If there’s anything Jimmy Kimmel loves more than hating on Matt Damon, it’s hanging out with his celebrity friends. Last year following the Academy Awards, the late night host debuted Movie: The Movie, a star-studded parody that pocked fun at every movie from the previous year. This year, following the awards ceremony, he made a sequel with even more celebrities included.
Movie: The Movie V2 stars top-notch actors like Rachel Weisz, Armie Hammer, Topher Grace, Jessica Chastain, Jude Law, Gerard Butler, Bryan Cranston, John Krasinski, Bradley Cooper, Kerry Washington, Chris Rock, Jason Schwartzman, Salma Hayek, Amanda Seyfried, Channing Tatum, Samuel L. Jackson and Matt Damon. He also included some TV celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Wolf Blitzer, and singer Bruno Mars.
In the sequel, the world is in danger once again. Sexy zombies have taken over, so Kimmel assembles an Avengers-type team to save the planet. He casts himself as a Nick Fury type, and Chastain as his sexy assistant.
Like any sequel, this super long trailer is not as good as the original… but we’ll admit that casting Oprah in the role of U.S. president was very clever.
Kimmel also introduced a sneak peek of a sequel to Life of Pi called Life of Psy. Check it out:
There are better “Gangnam Style” parodies than this one (the Mitt Romney one comes to mind), but it’s nice to see that Psy has a good sense of humor.
What do you think of Kimmel’s parody sequel?
