While Sunday night was mainstream cinema’s biggest night, it’s time to get down to what really matters in film—slight variations in the superhero costumes featured in comic book films.  With that in mind, it’s time to take a look at the new suit Andrew Garfield (a.k.a., his team of stuntmen as well as rendered CGI composites) will be wearing in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

That’s right, Spidey is getting all new threads for the next film, because you want to stay stylish when facing a chubby guy dressed as a damn rhinoceros.

This time around, Spider-Man’s mask features bigger eyes, and the overall suit features a different texture from the first film.  While that news isn’t exactly Earth-shattering, it is yet another preview into the style of the sequel, and it is far closer to the style featured in modern Spider-Man comics.

Written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Jeff Pinkner, and based on a previous draft by James Vanderbilt, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is directed by Mark Webb and is set for a 3D release on May 2, 2014.

What do you think of the new suit details?  A better or worse suit than last time?
