In what would seem like a bit of stunt casting were he not such a solid actor, Breaking Bad’s Dean Norris has now been added to the growing cast of the CBS’s Stephen King miniseries Under the Dome, in which he will play—get this—a seemingly solid citizen who actually moonlights as a meth cook.
If that sounds a little familiar, it should—on Breaking Bad, Dean Norris plays the DEA agent brother-in-law to Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a seemingly solid citizen who actually moonlights as a meth cook.
Norris has been cast as James “Big Jim” Rennie. Rennie is a power-hungry town councilman of Chester Hill, Maine, who also happens to be a murderous villain who runs a secret meth lab.
In Under the Dome, Chest Hill is cut off from the rest of society by an impenetrable and invisible dome, under which food, air, and sanity eventually begin to crumble.
The 13-episode miniseries is set to premiere on June 24 on CBS. The pilot episode will be directed by Neils Arden Oplev (the original The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).
