As Marvel Studios and Joss Whedon’s dominion over the entirety of pop culture continues, the teams has now spread their Avengers tentpole franchise from the big screen to the small screen with a TV entitled Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D., which documents the exploits of the human government agency tasked with dealing with the world’s superheroes and supervillains. And now, production has officially wrapped on the Whedon-directed pilot.
Maurissa Tancharoen, a writer and executive producer for the TV show, published a picture via Instagram featuring herself, her husband Jed Whedon (brother of Joss), executive producers Jeph Loeb and Jeffery Bell, and Joss Whedon himself, with the announcement that production of the pilot episode has wrapped.
So what now? Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. heads into the post-production stage where Marvel will await news as to whether or not it will be picked up as a full series. If so, expect the pilot to air at some point this fall.
As noted by Coming Soon, Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson (yes, the one who died in The Avengers), as well as Ming-na We, Brett Dalton, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, and Chloe Benent.
What do you think of the Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. news?
