Hey, remember that big hit movie The Avengers? Remember how it had all those cool actors playing superheroes? Well, they’re making a spin-off TV show from that movie, and it’s called S.H.I.E.L.D. And all those cool movie stars? None of them are going to be in it. But Clark Gregg‘s Agent Coulson will be on the show, and maybe Cobie Smulders’ Maria Hill.

Smulders’ Hill – you may recall – shot a gun in the opening sequence of The Avengers, and generally thought everything was a bad idea, though much of her character ended up on the cutting room floor. But she will be involved with future Marvel films as I Am Rogue talked to the actress and she said that she will appear (albeit briefly) in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and of S.H.I.E.L.D. she said “I can’t really say but there are definite talks about it.”

Smulders keeps busy with How I Met Your Mother, which has been renewed for a ninth season, so if Smulders is involved, it may be in a one-off episode, with perhaps greater future involvement. As Gregg’s Agent Coulson was killed off in the last movie, but is being resurrected for this show, anything’s possible. S.H.I.E.L.D. is currently shooting, with Joss Whedon directing the pilot, and should be on small screens this fall.
