We might be skeptical about the eventual release of G.I. Joe: Retaliation, but it’s only because Paramount delayed the film at the last minute, and claimed it was to post-convert the film to 3D, not to do extensive reshoots. From all word they didn’t touch it much, so maybe it’s not that bad? The latest footage looks fun, so there’s that.
And to help sell Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, they’ve stuck a four minute preview of Joe in front of that film, so people can get a taste of the action this weekend. Whether this is more beneficial to one or the other is hard to say. But we are – if nothing else – exceptionally curious about Retaliation, and we hope stars Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis deliver a fun stupid ride picture. The good news (for them) is that they’re already underdogs. Here’s that footage:

And though the ninja cliff battle has been a centerpiece of the advertising for the film since last year, the new footage looks great, and we’re seeing slightly more of the action from the film, which is nice. So much of the previous material covered the same two and a half minutes, and though we understand wanting to keep some secrets, when your film looks troubled it’s best to show that there aren’t only three minutes of good stuff. G.I. Joe: Retaliation hits theaters March 29.
Does this sell you on Joe?
