Shortly before production began on Kick-Ass 2, actor Jim Carrey showed off his love for the comic book series created by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. He strut out on Conan wearing Kick-Ass’s full outfit, pretty much shouting out much he would love to be in the upcoming sequel if given the chance. Months later we can now see Jim Carrey in full garb as Colonel Stars, schooling Kick-Ass (Aaron Johnson) on how to be a more badass superhero, with the help of some new friends.

Kick-Ass 2 follows Dave Lizewski (Johnson) months after the events that transpired after the first movie. Hit-Girl has adapted to the normal life but Lizewski finds himself going back to the life of Kick-Ass, teaming up alongside a new superhero group Justice Forever. Lead by Colonel Stars, they try to rid the streets from all crime. Unfortunately for them, they’re not the only group of supers to be roaming the darkened streets of New York City.

If you read the comics you always imagined Colonel Stars to be a little bulkier, but Jim Carrey’s onscreen personality is big enough for this character. We can’t wait to see him start to beat the ever loving hell out of some bad guys, with the help of Kick-Ass and his trusty dog Sophia. The first movie was fairly bloody, but if you checked out the sequel comic you know it gets especially worse for our heroes.

Are you looking forward to Kick-Ass 2?
