As we noted last week, you can pretty much expect some kind of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire news update at least once a week from now until the film’s November 22, 2013 release date.  Last week we saw a handful of official stills from the film, this week we’ve got the official teaser poster for the film.

The poster is essentially the image from the paperback version of the Suzanne Collins novel, except it looks like someone doused it in gasoline and lit a match.  Because the word “fire” is in the title—get it, you guys?  Get it?

The film takes place after the events in The Hunger Games—Katniss Everdeen and Peeta go on a Victors Tour of all the districts, while Katniss must prove that her saving both Peeta and herself during the Games was not part of the growing rebellion that is destabilizing their society; rather, she just loved the guy.  Amidst all this, the president begins preparing Quarter Quell (the 75th Hunter Games), which will likely force Katniss to run around again in tight clothes with a bow and arrow.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was directed by Francis Lawrence, and stars Jennifer Lawrence at Katniss.

What do you think of the poster?
