Ever since Disney got their hands on Lucasfilms’ previous Star Wars property, the possibility of there being a new trilogy finally became a reality. The same may go for the long-rumored live-action television series, believe it or not. No, seriously. They want to finally make the Star Wars television series. Okay, we’ll wait. Just take a couple of deep breaths and let it sink in. Yes, we’re super excited about the thought, too.

While being interviewed, ABC entertainment president Paul Lee informed us all that there’s a strong chance that the Star Wars live action television series will see the light of day. The project has been sitting around for many years and just never gained enough momentum to be filmed. Still, we find Paul Lee’s words to be a little bit comforting, despite that too many people have talked the talk but have failed to walk the walk for the longest time.

”It’s going to be very much up to the Lucasfilm brands how they want to play it.”

Fingers crossed that Lucasfilm finally gets this off the ground.

Since this has been on the back burner for a long while, there’s been a number of scripts written out for several episodes of this television series. It’s said to be set within the space of the prequels and the original trilogy. No, it doesn’t collide with the time line of the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. That series was set in between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. But now that we’re heading into the unknown territory of possible filming for this new live-action series, we’re curious to see who they think will be fit to be show runner. If you don’t know the premise of the live-action TV show, it’s set to be a heated rivalry between two families and a bounty hunter as they try to get their hands on Coruscant’s underworld. That sounds so cool.

Would you watch the Star Wars live action television show?
