Director Michael Connors‘ is getting ready to release his first feature Allegiance, an indie war thriller starring Seth Gabel (Fringe), Pablo Schreiber (The Wire), Shad “Bow Wow” Moss (Lottery Ticket) and Aidan Quinn (Elementary). Check out the trailer and poster for the film below.

Before starting his career as a filmmaker, Connors served as an officer in the U.S. Army. His background inspired his thesis film, which he wrote, cast and shot in 2006 while enrolled at Columbia University.  The award-winning short developed into something bigger and more ambitious. Connors wrote a fifty-million dollar war film, based on his short, but had a tough time pitching it to studios, as do most people coming out film school. So he decided to raise the money himself, and stringed together a number of TV actors from successful TV shows.

Allegiance, which tells the story of a young Army officer who helps one of his soldiers go AWOL on the eve of their deployment to Iraq, premiered at this past spring’s Seattle International Film Festival. The film got picked up for distribution and opens on limited release on December 28, 2012. We’ve got the trailer and poster for you below. Check it out:
