Like them or not, it’s been confirmed that a large chunk of the main actors from the first X-Men trilogy will be reprising their roles in X-Men: Days of Future Past. Who’s the latest to be locked into the time traveling sequel? It’s not that hard to guess if you skim down the list of who has yet to sign on.
The power of Bryan Singer is strong enough to lure in James Marsden and Halle Berry into the mix. Marsden will be playing our favorite do-gooder Cyclops once again along with Berry as our favorite weather mutant Storm. Not only do you have these two as part of the cast, but the Days of Future Past cast already includes Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult. Looks as if this movie may be one-upping The Avengers when it comes to star power.
If Halle Berry and James Marsden are coming back, then it is plausible that Famke Janssen could be coming back as Jean Grey. At the same time this might not happen since her character could easily be dismissed as one of the many casualties of this horrible new world for mutant kind. Herself and other X-Men who have not been cast as of yet could have easily been offed by the Sentinels that keep the remaining mutants in line in the future. We currently have yet to see any actors from X-Men 3 be cast in Days of Future Past, like Kelsey Grammar as Beast and Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde. Could they try to recast both of those characters? Who knows. Either way this is turning out to be quite a fantastic cast so far, and we’re curious to see who will be the lead character in this fantastic story which will begin filming in April of 2013.
Who else of the original X-Men movies would you like to see in Days of Future Past?
