Wow, this December is packed with films to see. This has to be one of the best looking film months in a long time. From limited release pictures like Zero Dark Thirty, to big mainstream films like The Hobbit and Les Miserables, we keep hearing good words about what’s coming in the next month, and we’re pleasantly surprised to find that Judd Apatow‘s This is 40 is getting good reviews. Here’s a clip, which seems to set the tone of the picture.

And in it we see married couple Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann) talk intimately about their plans to murder each other. Though this reminds a little of a similar scene in Punch Drunk Love, it’s a different tenor, as these are people who obviously love each other, but have been together so long that they also have the things about the other that they hate. Here’s the clip:

The other surprising thing we’ve heard about the film is that Megan Fox (yes that Megan Fox) is actually really good in the film. Here’s hoping that the film is as good as we keep hearing, though when it’s people who have or want to work with Judd Apatow, it’s hard to take seriously. The film also stars Jason Segel, Albert Brooks, John Lithgow, and more and opens December 21 nationwide.
