As you might recall, Marvel had designed a handsome box set for their ‘Phase One’ collection of films (i.e., everything from the first Iron Man film up to and including The Avengers). The 10 disc collection was set to be housed in a box that looks just like the metal suitcase carried by Nick Fury in the films. One hitch though—the company that designed the briefcase did so only for the films, and when they saw the box, they sued Marvel. So instead of the planned September 25, 2012 release date, the Phase One box was pushed to April 2, 2013, was given a new design, and—now, heads-up, fanboys—some interesting new previews.
That’s right—now that Marvel has had an extended period of time to tinker with the box set, the company has added a slew of deleted scenes from the Phase One films, as well as “an exclusive tease to all the Phase Two movies.” That means you’ll be getting a sneak peak at Iron Man 3, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Thor: The Dark World, Guardians of the Galaxy, and some little thing called The Avengers 2.
So, if you’re a Marvel fan that was waffling on the set, this preview may be what pushes you over the edge (assuming you can’t just wait an extra day or two for the footage to pop up on YouTube).
