Oh happy day! We’re not sure about the rest of you, but when The Muppets first came out we were in love. Seriously, that movie so so much fun to watch over and over again. One of the many highlights about it was the songs, made none other than Flight of the Conchords co-star Bret McKenzie. Now after having received an Oscar for one of his fabulous songs, he may be writing for the next Muppets movie. We only have one word for that: hooray!

The wheels have been turning for the past couple of weeks when it comes to The Muppets 2. Director James Bobin is back for round two along with screenwriter Nicholas Stoller. So it makes sense that Bret McKenzie would be brought back into the Muppets fold, writing a whole bushel of new songs for their latest movie. And no, before you even ask, for the last time there will not be any Jason Segel in this sequel. Stop asking.

What is The Muppets 2 about you might ask? There isn’t too much information given out on the main story, but we do know who Christoph Waltz will be. He’s playing an Interpol inspector whose apparently going after the Muppets for some reason in Europe. That information alone makes it sound like we’re getting a Muppets movie along the lines of The Great Muppet Caper, which is arguably one of the best Muppet films. If they’re trying to recreate some of the magic that The Great Muppet Caper was able to dish out, we’re in for one amazing treat.

Are you excited for The Muppets 2?
