While not quite as anticipated as The Avengers 2 or Iron Man 3 (or even Thor: The Dark World) because, let’s face it, the character is incredibly goofy, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is building up quite a head of steam in the lead up to its April 14, 2014 release date.  Just last week, rumors swirled about a possible villain for the film; now, a villain has been confirmed, along with some sidekick news, as well as some Avengers cameos.

First up, the villain.  Last week, we reported that Frank Grillo (who previously starred in The Grey and Prison Break) was in talks to star in Captain America: The Winter Soldier as Brock Rumlow, a.k.a. Crossbones, “a highly trained mercenary working for the Red Skull” in the Marvel comics.  Well, according to Coming Soon, Grillo has now been confirmed as Crossbones (who also manages to kill Cap in the Civil War storyline).

Also in Cap news, Coming Soon also has it that the trend of multiple Marvel cameos will continue in the sequel—thus far, Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, and Cobie Smulders’ Maria Hill have all been confirmed to appear in the film, along with Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, making this one big happy reunion for the boy in blue.  Though it seems Marvel is not doing the right thing, which would be to cast the Hulk in absolutely every movie ever made from this point forward.  Right?
