This was bound to happen sooner or later. When Marvel Studios blew away the competition this past summer with The Avengers, Warner Bros and DC Entertainment got to thinking about their future in comic book adapted features. They’re in the midst of prepping Man of Steel, but at this point they’re willing to bring out the big guns, better known as the long-awaited Justice League movie.

Comic fans will be thrilled to know that the Justice League movie is set to be released during the summer of 2015. If you remember correctly, that means they’ll be in direct competition at the box office with the likes of The Avengers 2. Color us absolutely excited.

Now why is this such a big deal? Despite their passive comments about how neither of them have been fighting the other for reign over the box office, Marvel and DC have been doing just that. Heck, it’s been going on for decades in their own comic publications, but only in the past decade have they fully transitioned to an even bigger arena, better known as movie screens.

But is it really that bad that the two tend to take over the summer season each year? Not at all. They actually provide a nice balance of engaging drama (The Dark Knight) and popcorn-munching entertainment (Iron Man) for everyone to see. What we’ll be in for during the summer of 2015 is basically the best Christmas in July present that fans of superheroes can ever ask for. You think the fans were going a little overboard with their excitement during this past summer, just wait until 2015.
