It’s been a rough couple of years for Hulk Hogan—a bad divorce, his son went to jail, and just last week, a sex tape was release of him having sex with his best friend’s then-wife.  So, yeah, he’s had better days/ months/ years.  And he recently paid a visit to the Howard Stern Show, in which /Film notes the Hulkster announced his desire to star in The Expendables 3,  and he then went on to lie (according to director Darren Aronofsky) and state he was originally cast in the lead role in The Wrestler that Mickey Rourke eventually excelled in.

/Film made the sharp-eyed catch in nabbing the story, in which Hulk told Stern that his fans have been clamoring for the wrestler to star in the third Expendables film (Hogan had previously appeared with Sylvester Stallone in Rocky III).  It’s something I could easily see, as most mercenary warriors tend to lay in a tanning booth five times a week and then color their hair a radioactive blond.

But the real news of the interview (minus, you know, all the sex tape talk), came when Hogan insisted that Aronofsky originally wanted him for the lead role in The Wrestler.  Hogan said he turned the role down, critics would have viewed it as “a joke.”  He also went on to say that he turned down the role of Little John in Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and that he also turned down the lead role in Highlander.  So, if he’s telling the truth, Hulk Hogan is essentially the worst decision maker ever.

But wait, there’s more.  Aronofsky recently took to Twitter to announce Hogan never had any connection to The Wrestler:

for the record the role of the wrestler was always @MickeyRourke it was never hulk hogan’s as he claims on @HowardStern

Jeez, if you can’t trust a former pro-wrestler who is currently starring in a sex tape with his best friend’s wife, who can you trust?

Who do you believe—Hogan or Aronofsky?
