There are two Alfred Hitchcock movies looming in the near future. HBO’s The Girl, starring Toby Jones and Sienna Miller, is airing on TV later this month and there have been a bevy of photos and trailers circling the internet. But we’ve seen very little of Sacha Gervasi‘s Hitchcock. Below, we have the first images of Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Biel channeling their legendary characters, courtesy of People magazine.
Hitchcock will tell the love story between the legendary director and his wife Alma Reville during the making of Psycho. Anthony Hopkins takes on the role of Mr. Hitchcock, Helen Mirren plays his wife Alma, and Johansson is Janet Leigh, Psycho‘s leading lady. Biel also stars as Vera Miles, who played Leigh’s sister in the 1960 movie.
In the images below, we see Johansson behind the wheel of a car, and Biel going hysterical in front of a woman in a rocking chair (probably the corpse of Norma Bates).
Director Gervasi said that “it was eerie” when they took the still of Johansson sitting behind the wheel of the car because it felt like they were shooting Janel Leigh.
“The extent to which Scarlett was able to channel Janet [was] a real surprise. She brought it in such a way that no one really anticipated.”
Hitchcock hits theaters November 23, 2012.
