While the domestic trailer for Skyfall, the 23rd James Bond film and the third to star Daniel Craig, featured a more well-rounded look at the film’s plot and the relationship between Bond (Craig) and M (Judy Dench), the newest international trailer gives us more of a glimpse of Javier Bardem’s bizarrely coiffed new villain, Raoul Silva. Once again, Javier Bardem in a villain role with wacky hair seems to be paying off with all kinds of malevolence. Check it out.
It seems that Silva and his Duran Duran-ish haircut have some kind of ties to M’s past and that, because of those ties, James Bond is once again going to be forced to play with million dollar gadgetry, drive expensive cars, wear designer clothes, kick lots of ass, and sleep with a bevy of beautiful women. It’s a tough job, being a 00 agent. Dig the short international trailer:
The new clip comes on the heels of the news that soul-pop singer Adele would be singing the Skyfall theme song, and the release of the domestic one-sheet for the film.
Skyfall was directed by Sam Mendes (Revolutionary Road, Away We Go, American Beauty), and was written by John Logan, Neal Purvis, and Robert Wade. It costars Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney, Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw.
