While the buzz continues to build around Skyfall, the 23rd James Bond film and the third to star Daniel Craig, more and more tidbits about the film are breaking loose and falling our way. Today, we have both the new domestic poster for the film, as well as information about the film’s theme song.
First off, the theme song. According to Showbiz 411 (via Cinema Blend) British songstress Adele will compose and perform the theme for Skyfall, which continues the roll the singer has been on, with such hits as “Rolling in the Deep,” “Someone Like You” and “Set Fire to the Rain” already being played on endless radio rotation.
It’s been a long tradition to have a rock or pop star perform the theme to a James Bond film, and Adele will now join the ranks of such performs as Paul McCartney, Duran Duran, Madonna, Tina Turner, Chris Cornell, and Jack White/Alicia Keys. Adele is reportedly replacing Amy Winehouse, who was rumored to have been in talks to perform the Skyfall theme before her untimely death.
And now, the poster. Sleek, minimalist and cool, let’s hope it’s a reflection of the new film, directed by Sam Mendes. Skyfall stars Daniel Craig, with Javier Bardem playing the antagonist, and is set for a November 9th release.
