While we’ve been busying ourselves with whatever rumors can be found concerning such superhero films as Justice League, The Avengers 2, and Guardians of the Galaxy, filming on Iron Man 3 has been chugging along without much comment from us. Earlier this summer there were the leaked villain and armor info but then… meh. Not much. So, seeing as it is our duty to spoil absolutely everything for you, keep on reading to get your greedy, greedy hands on spoilers relating to Iron Man 3’s climactic mega-battle.
Latino Review (via /Film) reports that the new Iron Man armor we’ve all been referring to as Mark 8 isn’t called that at all—it’s called Mark XLVII (that’s 47 for you slowpokes). Why is this significant? Keep reading—but you have been warned. Major spoilers concerning Iron Man 3’s plot and ending are below.
Ok, seriously, you can’t complain in the comments about this being spoiled for, ok?
Still reading? Ok…
Apparently, the climax of Iron Man 3 concerns an army of Extremis-enhanced baddies being controlled by Mandarin (Ben Kingsley). Tony Stark/Iron Man knows he can’t handle them all, so he thinks ahead:
Tony’s about to go out and fight some bad guys when he mentions the Mark XLVII to Pepper Potts. Pepper asks what happened to the other forty and Tony just smiles.
Stark then launches and controls 40 or so remote-controlled Iron Men in a massive final battle.
So there you have it. Sounds a little goofy, and will probably be way too CGI heavy, but hey, anything but Iron Man 2, right?
What do you think of the Iron Man 3 news?
