Ryan Gosling is still everywhere. Even though he hasn’t had as many movies this year as he did last year (in fact, it looks like he could with only one film this year after Gangster Squad‘s delay), he’s made up for it by becoming an internet meme. He’s now set to make his writing and directing debut with How to Catch a Monster, and he’s bringing his Drive co-star Christina Hendricks along for the ride.

Variety tells us that the film is “set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city and centered on a single mother of two being swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town.” Okay. The film is scheduled to shoot in spring, and it doesn’t have domestic distribution just yet, but a low budget film with these two will attached it will at least be turning up on VOD, if not hitting theaters at some point.

Though Gosling has not been as omnipresent of late, the cool points he got from Drive seem to be wearing off. Hopefully his turn in Drive director  Nicolas Winding Refn‘s next film Only God Forgives will re-establish his bona fides. Of course, half the internet seems madly in love with Christina Hendricks, while the other half is wrong.
