Despite a series of numerous casting changes and leaked info about an “out of control” and over-budget production, Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained marketing rollout is moving onward, this time with a new international trailer with snippets of new footage.
Like the previous international trailer, we basically get James Brown getting down while Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, and Leonardo DiCaprio do their best to act cool. But hey, DiCaprio is doing more than just furrow his brow and scowl for once, so that’s something, right? Progress!
Further, in between many of the shots we’ve seen before, there are a few bits of extra business and Tarantino violence here and there, as well a few alternate shots of previously released material (the “now you have my attention scene” in particular). Dig it:
Django Unchained concerns the story of Django (Foxx), an escaped slave, who teams up with a bounty hunter (Waltz), to rescue Django’s wife from Calvin Candie (DiCaprio). The film co-stars Sam Jackson, Kerry Washington, Don Johnson, Garrett Dillahunt, Walton Goggins, RZA, M.C. Gainey, Dennis Christopher, Gerald McRaney, Laura Cayouette, Don Johnson, Tom Savini, and James Remar.
Django Unchained is set for a Christmas 2012 release, and is Quentin Tarantino’s eighth film (ninth if you count his segment of Four Rooms, which he’d probably rather you didn’t).
What do you think of the new trailer?
