Mondo posters—the highly coveted alternate, and often incredibly awesome, posters for classic and cult films, designed by a stable of independent artists working for Mondo—are often the crown jewels in the collections of movie poster collectors.  So it makes sense that Mondo would design a poster for the most anticipated film of 2012—The Dark Knight Rises, and release it at this year’s Comic-Con.  The only surprise, however, is how, well, generic it is.

That’s right, Mondo will be selling an exclusive 24” x 26” The Dark Knight Rises print by the artist “Jock.”  The posters will be going for $50 a pop, and are located at Mondo’s booth at #437.

The sale time has yet to be announced, but Mondo will be announcing it shortly on their Twitter at @mondonews.

Unfortunately, the poster itself is more than a little generic, and looks like it could have been used for just about any Batman film or comic, featuring as it does Batman looming over Gotham City, which isn’t exactly the most novel concept concerning Batman art.  Oh, well.

The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard, and Michael Caine.  Directed by Christopher Nolan, the film will be the final entry into the extraordinarily successful rebooted Batman franchise trilogy, and is set for a July 20 release.
