Disney pulled out all the stops at their Comic-Con panel earlier today, showing off some of the best that they have to offer in the next year. One of those films happens to be Sam Raimi‘s upcoming fantasy film Oz, The Great and Powerful.
In the film we follow Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a selfish and showy magician who’s literally blown out of Kansas and ends up in the land of Oz. While there he thinks that he’s hit the fortune and fame that he’s been craving this whole time. But all of that quickly fades away when he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams). Everyone believes him to be the grand wizard that’s going to bring the Land of Oz into a new era, but these three witches have differing thoughts on that. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late.
The picture is directed by Sam Raimi and is expected to hit theaters nationwide on March 8, 2013, presented in 3D. While Comic-Con fans we’re at the panel, we were treated to a brand new teaser trailer, giving us a sneak peek into the world of Oz.
