How do you screw up the excitement for the cheesy goodness that is The Expendables 2? I mean, you’ve got an action film starring Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Dolph Lundgren, and Jason Statham—it’s going to be big, stupid fun, right? So how do you knock the goodwill for the film down a peg? You release a terribly photoshopped, made in five minutes-styled poster that resembles a late 1990s heavy metal CD cover.
But! Thanks to the good people involved in this year’s Comic-Con, poster collectors and action fans have no reason to fret—The Expendables 2 just got its very own Comic-Con poster, and it looks like the cover of the coolest 1980s action VHS tape that never existed (in a good way).
Like the poster? Well, if you happen to be hitting Comic-Con this week, you’ll have a chance to pick up a copy—the one sheet will be available at this year’s Con, and you’ll be able to see the cast and crew of The Expendables 2 headline their very own panel this Thursday.
The Expendables 2 is set for an August 17, 2012 release.
