It’s that time again! This week, thousands of fanboys and girls will travel to Southern California for 2012′s San Diego Comic-Con. The annual convention is the go-to spot for all things comic, sci-fi, horror and fantasy related. As usual, ScreenCrave will be on hand to bring you everything from first looks and interviews to posters and costumes. Here’s a rundown of what you can expect.

Movie Mania

  • Twihard Central: This year, we’ll say goodbye to the vampires and werewolves from The Twilight Saga. But before the release of Breaking Dawn–Part 2, the cast has to descend upon Comic-Con one more time. We’ll be there to get the inside scoop on Edward and Bella’s last hurrah.
  • Whimsical Comedy: Disney will make its presence known with first looks at the prequel, Oz: The Great and Powerful, the video game satire Wreck-it-Ralph and Tim Burton‘s Frankenweenie. Plus, we can’t talk about whimsical fantasy without discussing Warner Bros. The Hobbit. We’ll have interviews with the casts and crews behind the the highly-anticipated films.
  • Sci-Fi Purist: If you’re more into science-fiction, Sony Pictures is bringing their A-game. Colin Farrell headlines the reboot of the cult classic Total Recall, while Joseph Gordon-Levitt tries his hand at time travel in Looper. But our personal favorite is Neill Blomkamp‘s Elysium, which stars Matt Damon and Jodie Foster. We’re excited to get some dirt on that top secret collaboration.
  • Superhero Superstars: When it comes to film panels, two comic book movies take precedence. Iron Man 3 and Man of Steel will be at Comic-Con and we can barely contain our excitement. We’ve seen production photos from both movies, but no live action footage. Could we get our first new Superman and Iron Man trailers this week?

Tuned in to TV

  • Supernatural Summer: If you’re a fan of summer darlings True Blood and Breaking Bad, we’ve got you covered. We’ll keep an eye on Bon Temps and its devious residents, while figuring out Walter White’s latest plight.
  • Fairy Tale Fiction: We’re bringing you the inside scoop from ABC’s Once Upon a Time. Now that the curse is lifted and everyone knows the truth, what’s next? How will Emma react to her new-found mother and father? Will Regina’s powers be fully restored? And more importantly, what else does Rumpelstiltskin have up his sleeve? ScreenCrave is on the case.
  • Zombies and Mysteries: On a darker note, expect coverage of AMC’s The Walking Dead, which begins its third season this fall. Also, cable’s favorite serial killer is back. Dexter Morgan is heading to Comic-Con, he has a heap of explaining to do, and we want answers. We’ll also interview the stars of CBS’ Sherlock Holmes adaptation, Elementary. We’ll chat with Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu to find out if their Holmes and Watson are the real deal.
  • Fanboy Favorites: Aside from The Walking Dead, there are three shows that are Comic-Con royalty. We’re talking about Game of Thrones, Community and Doctor Who. We’ll be there to keep you in the loop of what’s happening with the Starks and Lannisters, the Greendale Seven, The Doctor and his new companion.

It’s going to be a busy week at ScreenCrave. So sit back, relax and stay tuned!
