For months we’ve been bombarded with trailers, posters and TV spots of Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises. And we’ve still got a good month left before all of that advertising dies down. So, with the film’s July 20 release date on the horizon, Warner Bros. has decided to put together a little contest where fans can create a 25-second TV spot.
Warner Bros. has teamed up with Chrysler to launch the Imported from Gotham City contest, which allows fans to create an original co-branded TV spot.
While there’s no guarantee that the spot will air on television, Christopher Nolan’s chosen winner will receive a trip to NYC to attend the red carpet premiere.
Contestants will be allowed to take assets from the competition’s website which includes Chrysler 300 car footage, film footage and music stems from the trailer.
At the end of the contest, a gallery of submissions will go live on Saturday, June 30th, kicking off a four-day public voting period where fans can weigh-on on which spot they think are best. There will be three finalists, and from those Nolan will pick his favorite.
This is a good opportunity for anyone who’s trying to make it as an editor or filmmaker. It’ll definitely be a good thing to add to a resume. So, are you up for the challenge? Check out the details on the official competition website.
The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th.
