It’s been an eventful couple of months for Quentin Tarantino fans eagerly awaiting the release of his “Spaghetti Southern,” Django Unchained.   First, there was a new poster, a plot summary, and then the first look at production photos; then, the news that Kurt Russell and Sacha Baron Cohen quit film.  Now, we have even more photos from the production, highlighting Django’s (Jamie Foxx) rivalry with Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio) for Django’s wife.

The pictures, above all, highlight Tarantino’s eternal quest for “cool,” with Foxx towering like a badass in one photo, and facing down DiCaprio in another.  Elsewhere, Christoph Waltz appears to firing a weapon at a grizzled man who wouldn’t appear out of character in a Peckinpah western.  Then you’ve got a shot of Tarantino himself, directing the action.

Django Unchained concerns the story of Django, an escaped slave, who teams up with a bounty hunter (Waltz), to rescue Django’s wife from Candie.  The film co-stars Sam Jackson, Kerry Washington, Don Johnson, Garrett Dillahunt, Walton Goggins, RZA, M.C. Gainey, Dennis Christopher, Gerald McRaney, Laura Cayouette, Don Johnson, Tom Savini, and James Remar.  The film is set for a Christmas 2012 release.

What did you think of the pictures?  Will you be seeing Django Unchained this Christmas?
