Just when you thought the numerous Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter trailers couldn’t get more ridiculous… well, they get more ridiculous. First, there was the insane teaser trailer. Then, the international trailer, followed by the nutty U.S. version. Then, we had the gore-spattered Red-Band trailer featuring our 16th president decapitating vamps with an axe. Now, in time for Memorial Day, we’ve got the final trailer, which revolves around the Gettysburg address and, yep, you guessed it—more Honest Abe axe-play.
The final Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter trailer plays much like the earlier clips—we see Abe’s mom killed by a vampire, which pushes the young man all the way to the presidency in his mission to eradicate the world of the undead. All the while, though, the trailer weaves in scenes and quotes from the historic Gettysburg Address—a formal speech written in 1863 in order one day serve as the narrative backbone of a commercial for a movie about a tall guy with an axe who kills undead bloodsuckers while maintaining a union during a succession crisis. Or something.
