Now that Arnold Schwarzenegger has returned to acting after his stint as governor of Kulifoniah and is making a return to acting, many fans—and yes, there are still Schwarzenegger fans out there—are curious about, in addition to his new roles, which classic Ah-nold franchises he will return to. Terminator? Predator? Nope—potentially, Twins.
That’s right: Twins, the 1988 Ivan Reitman-directed comedy about non-identical, genetically engineered twins starring Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito as the titular brothers. Rumors have been developing for the past year about a possible sequel to the 24 year old comedy, and addition of a third brother.
And now, /Film has it that Universal and Montecito Picture Co. are developing a sequel titled Triplets, in which “the story would see Schwarzenegger and DeVito as brothers Julius and Vincent, conceived experimentally, who discover they have third sibling.” And who would play that third sibling? Eddie Murphy.
Now, for those of you panicking about Murphy being absolute poison to modern comedies, don’t lose it just yet—so far, Triplets is simply in the development stage, without a script or director, so it’s possible that this potentially horrible film will never, ever have to grace your eyes. We’ll keep you updated in the meantime.
What do you think of the Triplets idea?
