Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) can’t catch a break. He’s going crazy and there’s nothing he can do to stop it. ScreenCrave was lucky enough to get a sneak peek at this week’s episode of Supernatural titled, “The Born-Again Identity” and it’s a doozy! If you’ve seen the promos, you know Sam is in bad shape and Dean’s (Jensen Ackles) doing everything he can to help. Tomorrow night, a familiar face returns to the fold and it’s none other than Castiel — or is it? His identity might be off, but he’s definitely played by Misha Collins, and gets plenty of screen time.
Here’s what you can expect…
Hi, I’m Emmanuel
Castiel resurfaces as a faith healer that goes by the name Emmanuel. He’s married (swoon) and living a quiet life with a woman called Daphne. Unfortunately, his honeymoon’s cut short when Dean’s sudden appearance brings trouble to his doorstep… literally. Considering how they ended things, to call their reunion awkward would be an understatement.
I’m crazy but helpful
Thanks to Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino), Sam looks certifiably insane. He hasn’t slept in five days and is withering away. Yet he still finds time to help someone in need. While institutionalized, he meets a young woman who’s dealing from her own spiritual torment. He takes time out of his suffering to help eliminate hers. That’s our Sam, always willing to lend a hand.
Speaking of torment, Lucifer’s really enjoying himself. By the laws of everything right in the world, we should hate his guts, but Pellegrino makes it damn near impossible! This week, he delivers some great zingers that really balance the episode’s darker moments. Who knew the Devil could be such a delight?
The dynamic trio
Dean and Castiel’s reunion has been heavily promoted, but what about Meg? Rachel Miner’s back and she’s as sassy as ever. She links up with the boys and joins them on their crusade. Meg’s always been one to watch, and this week is no exception. Keep your eyes peeled.
“The Born-Again Identity” is truly an amazing episode. And if you think these teases are great, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
