Hey, remember that video game series, Twisted Metal? You know the one. It featured “an underground event that pits a number of combatants in a fight to the death… outfitted in armored weaponized cars that are pimped out with heavy weaponry that includes missiles and machine guns” and features a muscular clown with flaming hair. Yep, that’s the one; and it’s a video game series that is super-necessarily being adapted into a film by one of the co-directors of cinematic masterwork, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.
A Twisted Metal film, which has been predicted and longed for by a movie going populace since never ever, will focus on the machinations of Calypso, “a string-puller dedicating to examining the human condition, such as what makes a peaceful man violent, what terrifies a violent man and who will make a Faustian bargain in which they risk their lives.” Other beloved participants, such as Sweet Tooth (the clown whose head is on fire) and Doll Face (a gal behind the wheel of an 18-wheeler with, you guessed it, a porcelain doll’s face). Bryan Taylor, one of the co-directors of the aforementioned Ghost Rider sequel, will be directing the project with all of the subtlety and skill he lent the sequel that features late-period Nic Cage as a motorcycle demon with a skull that bursts into flames.
