President of the United States, Rosanne Barr.  Does that just roll off the tongue?  No?  Well, don’t tell Rosanne Barr that, as the former sitcom star has decided to run for president on the Green Party platform.  And, if you could, please mark today’s date as the day in which the noble experiment known as “America” finally failed.  Thank you.

Barr, who starred in the popular sitcom Roseanne from 1988 to 1997 and was famously married to Tom Arnold, has announced that she has filed with the Federal Election Commission and is running for the Green Party’s presidential nomination, which hopefully won’t take too much time away from her important work in Hawaii, where she runs a 46-acre macadamia nut farm that is the centerpiece of the reality program, Roseanne’s Nuts.  I wish I had made that up.

In a statement, Barr stated that The Democrats and Republicans have proven that they are servants — bought and paid for by the 1% — who are not doing what’s in the best interest of the American people.”

She went on to say that “I will barnstorm American living rooms…Mainstream media will be unable to ignore me, but more importantly they will be unable to overlook the needs of average Americans in the run-up to the 2012 election.”

So this should be interesting.

What do you think?
