While national attention may be focused on the presidential election of 2012, HBO is focused squarely on 2008, as evidenced by their new original film, Game Change, which chronicles the events of the 2008 presidential election between Barack Obama and John McCain. And, in a new trailer for the film, much of the movie seems centered on the reasoning behind McCain’s decision to select Sarah Palin as his VP, and his campaign’s discovery that she might be a little, well, nuts.
Check out the trailer, and dig Julianne Moore’s uncanny performance as the Alaska governor/ vice presidential candidate (it’s spooky):
As you can see, the film also stars Ed Harris as John McCain, and Woody Harrelson as a campaign advisor. The film also stars Sarah Paulson and Ron Livingston, was directed by Jay Roach (who also directed HBO’s Recount), and was written by Recount scribe Danny Strong, “who adapted it from John Heilemann and Mark Halperin‘s bestselling book of the same title.”
The film is set to premiere on HBO on Saturday, March 10 at 9 PM—so set your Tivo, because this looks like it’s going to be a wild ride. You betcha.
What do you think of the Game Change trailer?
