In a situation that makes ‘reality television’ all the more disheartening and disturbing, Russell Armstrong, husband of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong, was found dead of an apparent suicide on Monday night in his home. He was 47.

According to CBS News:

Los Angeles County coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter said Armstrong was pronounced dead at 8:16 p.m. in a home on Mulholland Drive. Death was caused by hanging and Winter said a suicide note hasn’t been found.

Following the harrowing events of last night, many associated with the Bravo program are expressing their condolences.

Bravo executive Andy Cohen stated on Twitter that “I am so very sad about today’s news… My prayers and thoughts are with Taylor Armstrong and her family.” The Bravo Network released a statement that read, “All of us at Bravo are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the death of Russell Armstrong. Our sympathy and thoughts are with the Armstrong family at this difficult time.”

Co-star, Camille Grammer tweeted that “My sympathy and condolences go out to Taylor and Kennedy… My thoughts and prayers are with them.”

According to CBS, Taylor Armstrong filed for divorce last month, alleging physical and verbal abuse. The couple had one child, a five-year-old daughter named Kennedy.
