Bad news for fans of George Lopez—all six of you—as it turns on the late night talk show host and perennially unfunny comedian (and I’m using the work “comedian” very loosely) has been fired by TBS, and his talk show, the cleverly titled Lopez Tonight, cancelled.

But now that Lopez’s horrendously unfunny show is off the air, rumors are now flying that Conan O’Brien’s late night TBS show will be next on the chopping block, which might the final move to drive poor Coco insane, as it seems like he barely survived NBC giving him the axe—getting the boot from TBS might just drive him around the bend.

According to Fox News:

O’Brien and his writers weren’t even sure if they should address the controversy on his Wednesday evening show for fear that bringing attention to the cancellation would put them under the microscope. Staffers said much debate was made over whether to ignore the 800-pound gorilla in the room.

Yeesh—that sounds bleak.   While O’Brien did not joke about the cancellation, he did sadly comment on the state of things between TBS and Lopez:

“Had it not been for George being so incredibly supportive of me I would not have come to TBS,” O’Brien said. “It makes me really sad that TBS and George could not work this out….so tonight all of our thoughts are with George and his staff and his crew.”

Currently O’Brien’s show, Conan, is now down 2 million viewers from its super-hyped debut, which isn’t exactly a good sign; however, without Lopez, if TBS nixes O’Brien, what else do they have to broadcast?  Even more reruns of Family Guy and The King of Queens?  Please, please no, TBS—anything, anything but that?

What do you think of Lopez’s cancellation?
