Besides being one of the few bankable box office comediennes, Anna Faris is also one of the rare comedic talents who didn’t get her start on “Saturday Night Live” or on a sitcom. She’s also rather clever, and has successful pitched a comedy to Paramount. She’s got producers in sometimes-director Joe Roth, and Palak Patel. The premise seems a spin on the recent psycho-roommate movie The Roommate, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The story suggests that Faris will star in the film, and the premise is that she gets a nutter for a flat-mate, and comedy ensues. No other details are available. Faris got her big break in 2000′s Scary Movie, which has led to her working steady for the last decade. She’s gone from doing over the top comedy to the slightly more nuanced romantic leading ladies territory with ease, and – as she proved in 2009′s Observe and Report – she’s a fearless performer who will make herself look terrible if the joke is funny.
Comedies tend to be easy to produce, so if they can get a script together, there’s no reason why we couldn’t see this in the first quarter of 2012. Faris was recently in the long buried film Take Me Home Tonight, but no one holds that against her.
