Regardless of what you think of Jamie Oliver—and, as you’ll see in the video below, the people of Los Angeles don’t think much about him at all—you’ve got to hand it to the guy: he knows how to make a point. It’s just unfortunate that no one was paying much attention as he tried to point out the dangers of Los Angeles Unified School District’s food program.
The celebrity chef brought his “Food Revolution” to la-la land in order to have “a big yellow school bus filled with the amount of sugar added to the Los Angeles Unified School District’s flavored milk in one week,” according to The Washington Post, in order to point out the dangers of such high sugar levels.
A little dramatic? Probably. Necessary? Sure—we need to see why our nation is tipping the scales into obesity. Unfortunately for Oliver, however, no one really showed up to see what all the fuss was about. Check out the video below:
So there you have it—the guy tried to make a point, but we Angelinos were apparently too cool for school as far as sugar warnings go. Oliver should make sure to hit us up in ten years, when all of our kids look like Jabba the Hut. We might be listening then.
What do you think of Oliver’s bus stunt?
